Cradle_song
Cradle_song

Its a rainy afternoon, streets bustling with crowd and the only view that can be seen from a 10 storey building is of streets covered by umbrellas depicting of a huge roof covering the streets and between these potholed streets a incident occurs that could be forgotten after few days but a lesson to be learned at that moment.

Its a story about....you will figure it out just after 5 mintues.....Read on...

July 23, 2008 - 1:00 PM

Its raining heavily and everybody's busy trying to save themselves from the overflowing gutter caused due to heavy rains. But somewhere between this noisy activity, a distinguishing voice can be heard a rather painful one asking for something which is weird in itself. And as you follow the distressed voice, you encounter a young boy in his teens (i will name him Sri), shabby and torn clothes, injured knee, seeing his condition no one would argue that he was a slum dweller but why he is crying???

Sri was crying out loud and asking for some plastic sheet, a cloth or something that could cover him up. Maybe he needed something to protect him from the rain but its obvious in Mumbai to get wet then why was he crying and begging for a plastic sheet. Strange.

Sri approached a tea stall and asked him whether he has got some cloth, plastic sheet or any such sort of thing. And the tea-stall guy arrogantly pushed him away. Then he approached a well-dressed guy maybe in his 20's, and asked him to please lend his umbrella because he needed it more than him. The "sophisticated" guy rather unproved his sophistication without saying a word and pushed Sri.

Sri fell and injured his elbow and was bleeding but was least concerned about it. He roamed here and there but never went too far, don't know why? he was pleading to each and every person he would possible place his hope upon, he even searched the bottom of each dustbins he can lay his hand upon to search if there are any cloth or a piece of plastic sheet. But the only thing that was shattered was his hope.

After few minutes he saw a beggar sitting near the station roof with a plastic sheet covering him. Sri approached him with the last bit of hope left within, and asked him "Please, can i have your plastic sheet i need it more than you do". The beggar was furious and yelled at him saying "Why is it so important to you? Just because you don't get wet? Then what the hell i am going to do tell me"

Sri said "Its not for me its for some other reason". The beggar with anxious look, said "I will give it to you only on one condition if the reason is appropriate". Sri agreed with him and took him to a the distant highway.

Sri pointed downwards and showed the beggar that's the reason why i wanted your plastic sheet. The beggar was in tears when he finally knew the reason. Sri then took the plastic sheet and bent downwards to "cover his mother's dead body".

The beggar inquired who is she? Sri said she is my mother and a car hit her here. She was getting wet that's why i was searching for a plastic sheet to cover her.

The beggar was stumped and thought this is love and we people here.....

(The accident really affected Sri, and took his mental stability but the only thing that still there within him was his immense love for his mother. Nobody knows what happened to him afterwards.....)

Emosanal Attyachar - Emotional Blackmail

Emotional Blackmail
Emotional Blackmail

Readers Discretion is Advised :)

All Characters and incident in this write-up are imaginary. Resemblance to any person living or dead is purely coincidental.

Well it would be a surprise for me if you haven’t listened to “Emosanal Attyachar” song from the soon to be released ‘Dev D’, a modern version portrayal of the classic Devdas. Back to “Emosanal Attyachar” the hot favorite of everyone right now and you cannot put it in any specific genre coz you’ll have to create one :) .

Why I’m writing a post about this is because I can relate to this song like most of you and “Emosanal Attyachar” is about one of us every now and then sometimes on a serious note and sometimes the reasons are funny.

“Emosanal Attyachar” holds different meanings to different people but to sum it up in one general term “Emotional Blackmail” :D . Let’s get to know why I find this ‘two particular word so interesting’… come with me….. 1-2-3—dusssshhhh….(flashback)

Well, it’s me 121.7 cm tall, 7 years old at the peak of my notorious career, as it was god gifted to me so can’t do anything about it. Well, to be a professional in this has its own rewards or to be specific “risks” :) and and it was my mom’s watchful eyes 24/7 on me.

Schools were a way to torture us and homework’s were kind of “Welcome to Hell, Dude”. And with parents nagging, “you have to become this or that, finish this” and the only thing that was in my mind “Yaar, hope I don’t miss He-man today” :D

But here comes the “Emosanal Attyachar” part, and the tools were He-man, Superman, Batman, Comic Books, and the most important weapon Cadbury. Not only mom used to do “Emosanal Attyachar” on me but even my aunts.

Mom would say “First complete your Math’s homework only then you can watch He-man”, “I will not give this (Cadbury) until you complete this chapter today”. And I was “Chalo, lets do it”, because seriously I couldn’t live without watching He-man, I even made a sword for myself and it took me 5 days. So, that’s how my homework was completed. Sorry can’t say whether my teachers loved my homework, because it’s rather painful :) .

And my aunts were truly my mom’s sister in every aspect, should say a perfect carbon copy. Every time they visited our place, they would send me to the market to get something or deliver something for them and they would say “Babu, you will get a chocolate if do this for me, koo chi koo”. Yeah, corruption is everywhere what we can do about it. We have to live with it, right? And that’s how my childhood went, homework’s for He-man, helping with daily chores for a Cadbury, this and that…Puff….

Life went smoothly on an uneven road, but still “Emosanal Attyachar” was always there to make me aware that “Dude, be within limits” huh?

It was B’day time and me turning 18, the best age according to me and my friends, its the number of freedom, driving license, entry in bars and pubs, p**n stuff, Basic Instincts, and yeah, Baywatch!

I was grown up, and got enough proof for that hmm…. hey corrupt mind not that one I meant flirting with girls, bunking classes, and full-on-masti. But who cares what everybody thinks, I was still a little 6-yr-old-boy to my parents. If I wanted to go out, I had to give the phone numbers of all my friends who were going out with me. If I talked toooo long on phone, then “Who was that? Who’s “SHE”? ..arrgghhh!…..

And every night I used to think now “what it takes to show my parents that I have grown up” and I was 18 then.

First year went smoothly and second year started with a surprise. As the college reopened I proposed a girl within 5 days and I couldn’t believe myself. But I never knew that “Emosanal Attyachar” came in disguise of my girlfriend. Days went and the mirror of happiness of having a companion started showing the face of “tragady“.

If I didn’t call her, she would be like “I know you don’t love me”, if I am busy watching my favorite movie and by chance missed her call then, “Why don’t you pick up my call?…And if another girl even touches me, she would give me a cold stare and I was dying to answer back “Abe, am I an untouchable that no one can even finger touch me..ah?” But i had some lovely moments and had some “moments”.

And the only question that I have attempted 1000 times in my stuck up life which I have answered 999 times is “Who is important for you in your life?” and my answer would be “You, my dear”. Now you must be thinking why did I answer it just 999 times? Well, when she questioned me the 1000th time, I just gave a look and she got the answer that our journey together ends there itself because I knew for her the most important person was her dad. And the rest you can refer to the film “Devdas” (excluding the last scene :) )

Here I don’t know who committed an “Emosanal Attyachar” on me but I felt ‘Attyachar’ and man,it hurts. :( . I didn’t had an ointment or cream available to heal it. But time did its trick and I thought for a second that I had fled the EAS (Emosanal Attyachar Syndrome). I was feeling free, no one judged me, ordered me, built a fence around me :D Yipeee!

I graduated and did a course which I was passionate about and then got to my real occupation —”Struggling” which was really, really tough, frustrating, bundled with negative thoughts accompanying me always. But finally I got a big opportunity.

But then I realized EAS is still here, and also felt a hunch that my family was in deep financial trouble. And I had a choice either to work in a big production house for “free” that would open doors for me or to work somewhere else wholly different from what I wanted to be.

And I took the right decision and I am here working in a different environment but still the passion hasn’t died. It might have weakened on some odd days but now life has made me happy, optimistic and hopeful. And my passion for films have only increased for me day-by-day.

Now standing at 5′10, 23 of age, with a stud pierced in my left ear, I finally understand that “Emosanal Attyachar” is sometimes a way to express love, caring, attention and the most important to keep you away from dangers harm by hook or crook to say it directly :D .

Well still I am just 23 and have got a long way to go but hoping and praying that I am emancipated from the spell of “Emosanal Attyachar”

Though I love to do it on my closed ones…… :)

French Film
Journalist Jed Winter (Hugh Bonneville) is preparing to interview the celebrated French auteur film-maker Thierry Grimandi (Eric Cantona), a self-appointed expert on the nature of love. Jed is quick to dismiss Grimandi's theories of love and romance as pretentious nonsense, irrelevant to real people in real life relationships. But when his long-term girlfriend, Cheryl (Victoria Hamilton) refuses to marry him and instead forces him into couple counselling, Jed begins to realise that his own emotions aren't as straightforward as he once believed. Even his best friend Marcus (Douglas Henshall) wants to talk less about football and more about love as the truth about his relationship with perfect girlfriend Sophie (Anne-Marie Duff) gradually emerges.......

Dreams
Dreams

There's been a time when we were decided
Making us feel completed
Now here i am standing undecided
Puzzled with a question who i am

Acquainted by loneliness,partnering our side
Searching answers in the empty sky.
Stars sparkle but are meant for others.
Where do i stand between these fakers.

Dreams shows me my real life,
And mornings makes me live my real life,
I want to live in paradise,
Made of my dreams with colors bright

How do i decide, to make it better
Is this my life or i have a choice
If answers were easy i would be clear
But i am still puzzled with my question creeping in my mind.

Alas, i love to dream, bcoz there' where my real world

lives.
Searching my answers in those dreams alive.
Making my puzzle appear a bit complete.
Now i know why i see my real world.
Bcoz that's the picture i gotta paint in here.
Now i got the puzzle solved,
And now its a painting to be carved

Finally, finding my answer who i am
Now its up to me to be what i am.
